Paleopalynology in Colombia: a review

Palynology is an important tool for establishing age and interpreting paleoenvironments in both continental marine deposits. This paper provides a summarized overview of the palynological information published deposits Colombia ranging from Paleozoic to Miocene-Pliocene. We found 111 publications indexed journals contain data 511 sections or wells. has been mainly studied Eastern Llanos; Triassic-Jurassic virtually unknown; there are studies on Cretaceous Cordillera, Upper Magdalena Valley, Catatumbo; Paleogene sedimentary rocks Llanos foothills, Middle Catatumbo, some isolated spots La Guajira Caribbean while Neogene Amazon, foothills. Recent Pacific regions zonation its basins have successfully used other country.
